šŸ§ Navigating the VMware by Broadcom Acquisition

In November 2023, Broadcom's acquisition of VMware led to a shift from perpetual to subscription-based licensing, causing up to a 10x increase in costs for VMware customers. As the market leader in hypervisor technology, this presents major challenges for enterprises that depend on VMware for their IT infrastructure.

Christian Rolland and Devon Arsenault break down the acquisition and what it means for you in Episode 4 of the Tech Sessions podcast.

How To Strategically Plan IT Infrastructure Post-VMware

Devon Arsenault shares insights on how companies can approach this change, emphasizing the importance of a thorough, workload-by-workload analysis. With renewal deadlines looming, it's tempting to make quick decisions, but Devon advises a more measured approachā€”considering short-term renewals, reducing unnecessary VMware footprints, and rethinking your entire architecture. By assembling a cross-functional task force and setting clear requirements, businesses can not only mitigate the immediate financial impact but also position themselves for long-term success.
